Red Hat目录服务器是用于集中管理应用设置、组数据、策略等内容的基于LDAP的服务器。
Red Hat目录服务器所捆绑的多个CGI应用中用于解析Accept-Language HTTP头的例程受缓冲区溢出漏洞的影响，能够访问管理服务器Web接口的远程攻击者可以利用这个漏洞导致这些CGI应用崩溃或以管理服务器的权限执行任意指令。Red Hat Directory Server 7.1以root用户身份运行管理服务器。
